WIM USA makes call for abstracts

Women in Mining USA is accepting abstracts for presentations, panel discussions, debates, and case studies for its 2026 conference, taking place April 21-23 in Tucson, Ariz.

The association invites thought leaders, industry experts, professionals, and innovators to submit abstracts (300 words or less) by addressing one or more of the following topics:

  • Navigating Careers: Early Career Journey, Mid-Level Momentum, Senior Leaders Shaping Tomorrow. This session explores the evolution of careers in mining, from early ambition to senior leadership. It highlights mentorship, confidence-building, and overcoming barriers at each stage.
  • Designing for Inclusion: Safety, Support & Belonging. This session covers how policies, flexible practices, and fitted PPE support diverse needs. Attendees will learn strategies to foster psychological safety and holistic well-being.
  • Building the Talent Pipeline: Workforce Development for the Future. This session explores career outreach, education, and inclusive career pathways. It emphasizes community engagement and long-term investment in people.
  •  Mining the Narrative: Advocacy, Engagement & Storytelling. This session highlights advocacy, social performance, community engagement, and digital platforms. Participants will learn how authentic narratives drive change and connect with broader audiences.
  • Tech-Driven Transformation: AI, Automation, & Change Leadership. This session addresses emotional responses, ethical questions, and leadership roles. It encourages thoughtful consideration of tech’s impact on equality and responsibility.
  • Responsible by Design: Embedding ESG & Safety Culture. This session discusses governance, sustainability, and human-centric values. Attendees will explore how companies can proactively align with societal expectations.

Submissions should indicate the topic and preferred format (presentation, panel, debate, case study) and include a brief 150-word biography of the presenter(s). The deadline for submissions is November 30. More information can be found here.
